Using the public website

Wipe Hype Gaming is a Rust gaming community. The public website does not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or embedded third-party media. Optional performance and usage measurements are off by default and can be enabled below. When enabled, public-page views are also reported to Vercel Web Analytics. Administrator pages, query strings and URL fragments are excluded. Vercel processes these reports under its own retention and privacy terms.

Essential sign-in cookies

The protected administrator area uses essential session and security cookies to sign in, prevent request forgery and maintain authentication. They are not advertising cookies. Administrator sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity and after eight hours regardless of activity. Signing out revokes the server session. Public visitors do not need to sign in.

Hosting and security

Our hosting and storage provider, Vercel, processes requests to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. Technical request data can include IP address, browser information, requested URLs and timestamps. Retention depends on the hosting service and its security settings. Administrator login rate limits use a keyed hash of the client IP address, rather than recording the raw IP address in the login-attempt record.

Website content and history

Administrator edits and previous content versions are retained in a private activity history so changes can be reviewed and restored. Images selected for publication are publicly accessible. Do not upload confidential images or personal information for public display.

Game server administration

When the private game dashboard is connected, administrators can view players’ display names, recent aliases, Steam IDs, connection IP addresses and in-game locations, plugin status and recent game warnings/errors. These player records, including the last observed position and IP, are limited to seven days and 2,000 players while the collector runs. Current positions are refreshed in a private server snapshot; selected-player trails remain in the administrator’s browser memory for up to 20 readings. This data is not published on the public website or sent to Discord by the dashboard collector. Shared-IP matches are network correlations, not proof of common account ownership. Underlying game-host logs have their own retention, and stopped collector files remain until removed by an administrator.

Player join screening

The join-screening plugin sends joining players’ SteamID64s to NoCheatersOnRust for public-record research. Available risk indicators, combat/headshot statistics, ban records and public or previously observed friend-network coverage are shared with moderators in our configured Discord channel. Missing or private records remain unknown; a score is not a confirmed cheating verdict. No automatic kicks or bans are enabled. NoCheatersOnRust and Discord apply their own privacy and retention terms.

Community links and store previews

Discord and Steam are separate services with their own privacy policies. Their services are contacted when you follow a link. Store prices and checkout are provided by PayNow. Steam verifies your account directly before we look up or create the matching PayNow customer. PayNow receives your SteamID64 and connection IP for checkout, pricing, tax handling and game delivery. We do not receive your Steam password or payment-card information. An encrypted, host-only cookie links your account to the chosen package for up to 30 minutes. It is Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax; Unlink this session removes it. SteamIDs, customer IDs and checkout identifiers are excluded from optional website measurements. Hashed Steam sign-in nonces prevent replay and are retained for up to three days for security. PayNow and Steam apply their own privacy policies and retention periods.

Questions and choices

You can browse with optional measurement disabled. If enabled, we store aggregate public-page interaction counts and performance histograms with scheduled cleanup after 30 days. We do not store visitor identifiers, full URLs, query strings, form contents or raw IP addresses in measurement records. A short-lived keyed IP hash is used to rate-limit reports. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track prevent optional collection. The reporting choice itself is stored locally in your browser.
